Kev M is a singer/songwriter from Hull, UK.
Inspired by Nirvana and The Lemonheads, Kev started writing his first songs aged 16- a few of which are regularly played live at his gigs.
Kev M recorded early demos in late 2017 at the recording studio at Hull College shortly before hitting the live scene playing regularly at Acoustic Nights throughout Hull. In November 2018 he was selected to support Pete Macleod on his UK tour which unfortunately was postponed.
In July 2018 Kev M self released his first single ‘Swipe Right’ a jangly summer anthem. In August of 2018 the follow up ‘Too Late’ was released - a beautiful acoustic story that tackles depression, chasing dreams and never giving up on them. The single release has so far achieved over 1,500 streams with minimal advertising and has been described as ‘incredible’ and ‘beautiful’. In early January 2019 the third single release was ‘Seasons’ which was written and recorded within a month.
In 2019 he performed at The Springboard Festival, a packed out Acoustic Tent at WithStock and a set at Jimmy's in Manchester.
An avid Youtuber and social media user, Kev regularly updates his fans with vlogs, exclusive live performance videos & cover songs.
His musical style has been likened to The Verve, Bob Dylan & Lou Reed.
Kev has had coverage in various online blogs including music reviews and interviews. His music has also been played on various internet radio stations including a full interview and session for Hull Kingston Radio (listen on Youtube).
